The mobile device can be viewed by visiting WellsFargoChampionship.com from any location, including the designated cell phone zones located in marked areas at Quail Hollow Club.
Fans will be able to access live tournament data including tournament news, tee times for the pro-am days and competition days, spectator information, player information, hole-by-hole description, an interactive course map with geolocation, social media links and a daily photo gallery.
This marks the first year the PGA Tour event, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, will launch a mobile website.
“We have been fortunate the tournament has grown to a point of being a special regional and national event during the spring. With this mobile website we will be able to share the tournament experience with more people,” said Kym Hougham, Executive Director of the Wells Fargo Championship. “For the fans who were able to purchase tickets before we sold out and for those who will not be attending, this is another way to keep up with the Wells Fargo Championship for a week.”
“Last year was the first year fans attending PGA TOUR events were allowed to bring mobile devices to tournaments, and we had a very successful week with the new policy here in Charlotte. So our staff looked at this mobile website possibility and decided to give it a try this year.”
